Not only does Oxford University Press hold Meet the Authors, Oxford Seminars and Oxford Webinars but we also participate in a variety of ELT and CLIL conferences across Spain throughout the year.

You may have seen one of our speakers or our stand at one of the many conferences we have attended this year. We’ve been to the British Council Annual Teachers’ Conference in 4 different cities, ACEIA in Sevilla, CEFIRE in Castellón, and more recently The Image Conference in Córdoba to name a few.

Of all the conferences thIMG_20141122_151105731_HDRis year, one in particular caught some media attention; The Image Conference which took place in November in the city of Córdoba. 20 Minutos picked up on this international conference and billed it as a “turning point in language teaching innovation”. As the name suggestsimageconf_jk, The Image Conference focused on the use of film, video, image and gaming in language teaching. Among the many speakers that took part Jamie Keddie and Nina Lauder each represented OUP with talks on using video cameras in the classroom and using images to transmit science concepts respectively. As for the 230 participants, they left the conference with a plethora of possibilities and ideas related to new technologies that they can apply to the English classroom to motivate their students. You can read the full article here.

We would love to hear from you if you attended any one of the conferences! Which conference did you go to and how was it? Click on “leave a comment” above.
